Edward Ka-Spel is an English singer/songwriter and musician residing in the United Kingdom.

Ka-Spel is an enigmatic musician best known as the lead singer, keyboard and electronics player, songwriter and co-founder of the band The Legendary Pink Dots, in which he was initially known as D'Archangel, Prophet Q`Sepel and other wierd names. He has also released numerous solo albums (initially featuring other members of the Legendary Pink Dots, and including contributions from Steven Stapleton), and has worked in various side projects, including The Tear Garden (with cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy), and Mimir (with Phil Knight, Christoph Heemann, Jim O'Rourke and others).

His musical output is like a conducted musical caos, which mix in a unique, mutant, and always vanguardistic way, so diverse elements from diferent musical traditions as psychedelia, industrial, avant garde, experimental electronic, art pop, clasical music, folk (nursery songs), sampling, noise, collage, music concrete, etc. His lyrics have been described as intensely personal and mystical, incorporating recurrent themes from his own personal mythos, and his songwriting and singing have been compared (usually favourably) to Syd Barrett and early Pink Floyd, refered by Ka-Spel, as being more a folk coincidence, not a direct influence... Ka-Spel have mentioned so diverse influences and musical references as: Xenakis, Beatles, Otomo Yoshihide, Radiohead, Nurse With Wound, (early) David Bowie, Brainticket, Can, (early)The Residents, Magma, Ilicht, Es, Throbbing Gristle, etc.

Edward often appears wearing a long scarf and either pink or black optic glasses both on and off stage. Early in his career, Ka-Spel drew black lines on his face and arms, which Phil Knight has referred to as "his cracks," presumably as they resemble the cracked lines of a china doll, an image very present in thier early albums. He also performs barefoot.

Ka-Spel's has a distinctive singing voice, as it exhibits unique characteristics to the region of England in which he grew up. In addition to his east London/East Anglian accent, Ka-Spel's dialect. The regional dialect is also carried through lyrics.
