Julie Campbell, otherwise known as Lonelady (often typeset as LoneLady), is a musician from Manchester, England. Her debut album, Nerve Up, appeared on Warp Records in 2010 and drew praise from Paul Morley.

Biography

Campbell graduated in Fine Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University. While at university, she started to write and record music on a four-track recorder in her flat. She released two CD-R singles and one 7" vinyl on Manchester-based label Filthy Home Recordings. This brought LoneLady to the attention of Too Pure, and in 2007 they released a 7" single. In 2009, Campbell signed to Warp Records. Her debut album, Nerve Up, was released 22 February 2010. .

In 2011, it was announced that Campbell would be collaborating with Jah Wobble. This collaborative project is called Psychic Life. The result of this is the eponymously-titled debut album Psychic Life, which is reported to be inspired by disco, post-punk and psychogeography. It will be released by Cherry Red Records on 14 November 2011. The project also reunites Wobble with fellow ex-PiL guitarist Keith Levene. A digital-only Psychic Life EP, fronted by the song "Tightrope", will be released in October.
