Gregory Shorter, Jr., better known as Ras G is a DJ and experimental instrumental hip hop music producer from Los Angeles, California. Recording also under the monikers Ras G & The Afrikan Space Program and Ras_G & The Alkebulan Space Program, he is associated with the Brainfeeder record label established by fellow music producer Flying Lotus as well as Poo-Bah Records, a label Ras G co-founded with partners Ron Stivers and multi-genre music producer Black Monk. He has been involved with the Los Angeles music scene since the early 1990's and has subsequently released several full-length albums, EPs, and DJ mixes.
