Biography Wikipedia

Ad Inferna is a French American gothic metal band consisting of members VoA VoXyD and Vicomte Vampyr Arkames, born in 1998.

Their debut album L'Empire des Sens was released in 2001 under the German label Last Episode first, then under Silverdust, a division of the German label Metal Blade. The band appeared at the Summer Breeze Festival in Germany in 2002, sharing stage with Dimmu Borgir, Nightwish, Tiamat and The Gathering. The band split up in 2003 after several financial problems with their first label Last Episode.

In 2009, after 7 years without performing, the band re-formed leaving aside the symphonic black-metal style for a new industrial metal genre. Then born "Trance n'Dance", recorded, mixed and mastered by Neb Xort (Anorexia Nervosa) at the Drudhenhaus Studio in France. The band signed with Aural Music / Dreamcell11 and got distributed by Soolfood. The album features 12 tracks including collaborations with bands such as Reaper, Soman, Combichrist and Beborn Beton.

In 2010, Ad Inferna signed a three-album contract with the American label Nilaihah Records. The album "DSM" is released, co-produced & mastered by Vasi Vallis (Frozen Plasma, Reaper, NamNamBulu)

"No doubt about it, Ad Inferna is moving on the right path, working with the right people (like Vasi Vallis who did the mixing and mastering) and "DSM" will for sure bring this band a bit more into the spotlight." (Side-Line Magazine)With this album, Ad Inferna takes the next step within the electronic music scene… Pushing electronic beats with dark and romantic soundscapes makes it very enjoyable. (Black Vector Magazine)

In 2011, Ad Inferna releases the opus “There Is No Cure”, an album with a very much darker dimension, getting back here and there their black metal roots. The album features Kari Berg (formerly of Ashbury Heights) and Zombie Girl.

The artists managed to create a gloomy decadence, in a yet perversely appealing climate, which affects all the senses of the listener. The disc introduces into the world of contradictory meanings, radically different from generally accepted norms and religious rules. Their best work to date? Yes, without a doubt! (BlackVector)“There Is No Cure” is fully enjoyable and for sure the best production to date from Ad Inferna (Side-Line Magazine)

In 2012, the band decides to create their own label DSM Music, in association with Audioglobe managing the distribution. "Ultimum Omnium" is released.

A majestic “Ad Inferna” and a breathtaking “Infinite Si Mal”, with an awe-inspiring Hebrew scriptural reading conclude the new album from Ad Inferna consuming and at the same time renewing the superb overall emotional makeup of the album. (Darkwave / Viva Music)

In 2013, the band releases their new album "Im Mortelle" featuring female vocals from Melissa Ferlaak (ex Visions of Atlantis, ex Aesma Daeva, Plague of Stars, MY Eternel), Alina Dunaevskaya (Markize), Annie Bertram and MyLucina. The album has been claimed "Album of the week" by Orkus Magazine in March 2013.

“Im Mortelle” has the potential to become a kind of referential composition for Ad Inferna on which they once more avoid to be catalogued as one specific music style. (Side-Line Magazine)
