Coke Bust are a Washington, DC straight edge hardcore band formed in 2006.
History
Coke Bust was formed in the summer of 2006 in Washington DC by Nick Tape (vocals), Chris Moore (Drums), Jeremy Evans (Guitar), and Matt Parsons (Bass). They released a demo shortly after their formation, which was then pressed onto a 7" in January 2007 on Headcount Records. Their next release was a 7" EP titled "Fuck Bar Culture," released on Third Party Records in the Summer of 2007.
Following the release of the "Fuck Bar Culture" EP, Coke Bust did a handful of short tours and recorded a second demo. Shortly after, original bassist Matt Parsons left the band and was replaced by Daniel Jubert. With this new lineup, the band recorded and released their first full length, the "Lines in the Sand" LP/CD, on Six Weeks Records in May 2009. The release of "Lines in the Sand" was followed by a full United States and Canadian tour with fellow DC band Sick Fix, with whom they shared members.
Coke Bust did a few more short tours between 2009 and 2010 before recording their second proper 7" EP, "Degradation" which was released in the fall of 2010 on Refuse Records to coincide with their first European tour. "Degradation" was then pressed domestically on Grave Mistake Records in March 2011. In the summer of 2011, Jeremy left the band and was was quickly replaced by DC-native James Willett.
