Biography

Aim's Andy Turner is a cinematic British trip-hop producer who retains close ties to the rap influences of his youth. The son of a jazz musician, Turner began his music career in 1989 as a rap DJ. He began recording as well and signed to the Grand Central label after meeting label head Mark Rae at a record store. Turner made his Aim debut with 1995's Pacific Northwest EP and followed with tracks from a few Grand Central compilations as well as another EP, Soul Dive. In 1999, he released his album debut, Cold Water Music. Turner has also remixed Ian Brown, St. Etienne, the Charlatans UK, Raissa, and Mucho Macho.
