Biography

New York-based producer Alka has kept a low profile, even for experimental techno circles. Even after two full-length releases on his own Gravitonium -- 2001's Polus and 2002's Emit -- it wasn't until MRI's Frank Elting and Stefan Lieb signed him as the first act for their Resopal Schallware label that he gained a modicum of recognition in global circles. He'd been working as a producer since the mid-'90s, though, doing most of his work for films, including the acclaimed underground documentary Radioman. Elting and Lieb's association with Force Inc enabled his 2002 release, Deployed, to gain wide distribution.
