Biography

A group of veteran rock musicians based out of Sacramento, CA, Axe Men made a sort of cottage industry out of turning well-known rock songs into parody endorsements of Barack Obama during Obama's run for the presidency in 2008, releasing titles like "Barack of Ages," "Barack You Like a Hurricane," and "B-A-R-A-C-K in the USA" during Obama's candidacy. Members of the band, Jeff Tamelier (guitar and vocals), Donny Baldwin (drums and vocals), Glenn Letsch (bass), Rolf Hartley (lead vocal), Michael Finnigan (lead vocal), and Bob Cedro (guitar), had previously done stints with several successful rock acts, including Starship, Tower of Power, Robin Trower, and Gamma. An EP of the various Obama parodies, Barack's Greatest Hits, was released by Gigatone Records in 2008, as was another EP, The Kid Rock EP, with four tracks that weren't related to the 44th President of the United States. A full album of Obama parodies was released early in 2009.
