Biography

The rock group Barney Bentall & the Legendary Hearts was formed in Vancouver, Canada, in 1980. Members of the band, some that over time slipped out and others that slipped in, were vocalist and guitarist Barney Bentall, who also served as frontman, drummer Jack Guppy, guitarists Doug McFetridge and Colin Nairne, bassists Barry Muir and Kevin Swain, and keyboardists Will Froese and Cam Bowman. Barney Bentall also worked under the pseudonym Brandon Wolf, doing a few solo offerings for fans in 1979. Between 1980 and 1997, the group released nearly 20 singles for major record labels such as CBS and Sony, including songs like "Life Could be Worse," "The House of Love," "Nothing Hurts Like the Words," and "Family Man." There were over half-a-dozen albums too, including Lonely Avenue in 1990, Ain't Life Strange in 1992, and even a greatest hits album in 1997, that carries tracks from the whole decade between 1986 and 1996 of Barney Bentall & the Legendary Hearts. Thanks to hit songs, long tours, and positive press, the band even had some success in the United States during the last part of its life.
