Biography

Despite their ominous-sounding name, New York's Blood on the Wall plays high-energy, danceable indie rock with boy-girl vocals. The trio consists of guitarist/vocalist Brad Shanks, bassist/vocalist Courtney Shanks, and drummer Miggy Littleton, also of Ida. Courtney and Littleton met when she found him selling records on a street corner; they struck up a conversation about music that turned into a friendship and, eventually, a musical collaboration. After graduating from college back in their hometown of Lawrence, KS, Courtney's brother Ben joined Shanks and Littleton in Williamsburg, NY. The group issued a debut 7", Baby Likes to Holler/The Walking Dead on Big Deal before moving to The Social Registry for their self-titled, full-length album, which came out in spring 2004.
