Biography

Falkenberg, Sweden's By Night was formed in 1999 and gradually developed their sound over the course of several years and demos, eventually being named "Sweden's Best Unsigned Band" by Close Up magazine. Come 2004, the group recorded a split CD with Cipher System, then signed a contract with Lifeforce Records, which has since produced two full-length albums: 2005's Burn the Flags and 2006's A New Shape of Desperation. Showcasing By Night's unique hybrid style (a novel fusion of mechanized, almost industrial, metalcore and post-thrash containing small traces of Meshuggah, Fear Factory, and the Haunted), these were performed by Adrian Westin (vocals), Andre Gonzales (guitar), Henrik Persson (guitar), Marcus Wesslen (bass), and Per Qvarnstrom (drums).
