Biography

David Steinhart was a founding member of Pop Art, a California-based recording act he formed in 1984 with his brothers, Jeff and Richard. During the six years of its existence, Pop Art produced five albums, all released on the Steinharts' own Stonegarden Records label. The band toured throughout the States and Europe many times, fast becoming a mainstay on college radio play lists. In 1994, bassist Cindy Albon and drummer/programmer John Glogovac joined David Steinhart to form another Stonegarden-distributed band -- Smart Brown Handbag -- to create even more hook-laden, super-charged pop music. Since its inception, the Stonegarden label has released more than 40 titles, during which time David Steinhart branched out on his own to release Everything She Says in 1992, the first in a series of solo recordings. This was followed by the release of The Almighty Nest in 1993 and Clean in 2001.
