Biography

Dead Heart Bloom is the group name for the solo career of singer/songwriter Boris Skalsky, who had been a singer, bass player, and keyboard player in the Washington, D.C.-based band Phaser in the early years of the 21st century. After the breakup of Phaser, Skalsky holed up for six months and, with the help of some friends (drummers Gregory Hudson and Simon Ley, former Phaser guitarist Paul Wood, and the Sunrise Quartet), wrote and recorded his own album, also called Dead Heart Bloom, featuring 12 original songs and a cover of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues." It was released by KEI Records on March 21, 2006.
