Biography

Based in the central Finnish town of Konnevesi, where they first formed in the year 2000, Excalion is a power metal band whose lineup at the time of their first album, Primal Exhale, comprised vocalist Jarmo Pääkkönen, guitarists Kimmo Hänninen and Tero Vaaja, keyboardist Jarmo "Jappe" Myllyvirta, bassist Timo Sahlberg, and drummer Henri Pirkkalainen. Shortly after the album's release through Sound Riot in 2005, Hänninen and Sahlberg exited, replaced by new guitarist Vesa Nupponen, while Vaaja shifted from guitar to bass.
