Biography

Politically conscious indie pop band Exit Clov (a name derived from Samuel Beckett's Endgame) are based in Washington, D.C., and feature twin sisters Emily Hsu (vocals, keyboard, violin) and Susan Hsu (vocals, guitar, violin) along with Aaron Leeder (guitar), Brett Niederman (bass), and John Thayer (drums). Influenced by such artists as Blondie, Blur, and Metric, the band formed in 2003 and, though inexperienced, played its first show within a month. In the following few years, Exit Clov had a handful of EPs: Starfish (2003), Saskwatch (2004), Jolly Roget Sessions (2006), and Respond Respond (2006).
