Biography

Daughter of an amateur singer, Flor Silvestre (born Guillermina Jiménez) was captivated by popular music at a very young age. In Mexico City she had the opportunity to perform live for the first time, adopting the nickname of Flor Silvestre soon after. A first place in a new talent contest gave her the chance to start touring around Mexico and Central and South America. Around the same time, while promoting her debut record, Guillermina Jiménez began a successful acting career. Flor Silvestre got married to popular Latin artist Antonio Aguilar. Together they became a local legend and parents of two celebrities in the Mexican scene: Antonio Aguilar, Jr. and José Antonio Aguilar, aka Pepe Aguilar.
