Biography

Oberlin, OH's own Golden came together in 1993 with Ian Eagleson (guitar/vocals), Alex Minoff (guitar/vocals), Philip Manley (bass), and Jon Theodore (drums) while attending a local city college. In between studying overseas and various side projects, Golden managed to keep it together. An eponymous album appeared in 1998 on TransSolar; Super Golden Original Movement followed the next year, while the cool pop swirl of Golden Summer was issued in 2000. During this time, Manley was working with Trans Am while Theodore toured with the likes of Royal Trux, Palace, and the Mars Volta. Minoff recorded with Rhode Island's Six Finger Satellite and Eagleson worked on a PhD in ethnomusicology. Several EPs followed into the new millennium, but Golden put everything aside in 2002 to focus on their fourth album, Apollo Stars.
