Biography

DJ/Producer Gavin Hardkiss debuted as Hawke with the release of Namaquadisco in 1998. Born in South Africa, he moved to the U.S. in the late '80s. The experimental music scene captivated him around the time he started attending the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and different festivals in the New York area. In 1991, Gavin Hardkiss settled in San Francisco. DJing and composing became the way to express himself in the music field. Hawke returned in 2002 with an 11-track record called Heatstroke, featuring the club/dance hit "Party People (We're Gonna Change the World)."
