Biography

Self-proclaimed "boy band" I Was a Cub Scout are Nottingham, England's Todd Marriott (vocals, synthesizer, guitar) and William Bowerman (drums), who joined together while teenagers after playing in separate punk bands. The idea had its origin with Marriott, who started as a one-man act in mid-2005, with Bowerman joining in early 2006. The duo's blend of emo, indie rock, and electronics was satisfactory enough for XL Records imprint Abeano, which issued the singles Pink Squares (November 2006) and I Hate Nightclubs (March 2007).
