Biography

Though she is originally from America, Ingrid Karklins' brand of old-world folk lends comparison to female singers of the British Isles such as Enya, Sinead O'Connor and Sandy Denny. In 1989, Karklins recorded a demo tape named Kas Dimd, which earned her a contract with Green Linnet. Her debut for the label, 1992's A Darker Passion, was followed by Anima Mundi in 1994. The album received much critical praise, as did her live performances with bassist Steve Bernal, drummer Chris Searles and guitarist Craig #7. Karklins became unhappy with Green Linnet after Anima Mundi, and moved to Harmony Ridge Music for Red Hand.
