Jason Bill is a largely migrant presence on the American space rock scene, never staying in one group too long, but he's developed a cult fanbase throughout his peregrinations. Bill first became widely known as one-third of the most popular lineup of the Texas-based space rockers Charalambides, which he joined in 1993. Bill added guitar to three Charalambides releases, the cassette-only Historic Sixth Ward, the double-LP Market Square, and the EP Devils, as well as the track "Drop" on the popular Ptolemaic Terrascope benefit CD Succour. After leaving Charalambides, Bill recorded 1998's Via St. Louis with his friend Jack Rose of the Virginia-based improv trio Pelt and then formed the Migrantes with singer/guitarist Caroline Vickers. Their first album, Moon Journals, was released in 2001.
