Biography

The Johnny Nocturne Band, led by saxophonist John Firmin, plays a mixture of instrumental jump blues and jazz covers from the 1940s and '50s. Jazz and blues vocalist Brenda Boykin helps out on the band's first two albums for Bullseye Blues, Wailin' Daddy and Shake 'Em Up. The latter was recorded live in the studio with no overdubs and was produced by Firmin and David Luke. Million Dollar Secret followed in 1999.
