Biography

Boasting a fierce attitude and plucky vocals reminiscent of Maggie Bell, Pat Benatar, and Joan Jett, L.P. is a New York-based singer/songwriter in the hard rock vein. She honed her performance chops with Lionfish during the late '90s, releasing several albums and playing New York's club circuit throughout the band's three-year lifespan. Producer/songwriter David Lowery caught one of the group's performances and promptly invited L.P. to sing on Cracker's Gentleman's Blues in 1998. She also joined Cracker on the road, where she sang backup vocals and was a featured solo performer. Lowery and L.P. then teamed up for 2001's Heart-Shaped Scar, which introduced L.P. as a brash, swaggering solo artist, and L.P. promptly hit the road for four years in support of the record. Returning home, she issued Suburban Sprawl & Alcohol in 2004 and signed with SoBe Entertainment, who sent her back into the studio in 2008 to record a third album.
