Biography

Founded in New York City's Lower East Side in 2003 by dual vocalist/guitarists Boshra Al Saadi and Nicole Greco, Looker began as a casual bit of fun between these two lifelong friends, before getting serious with the addition of bassist/vocalist A.J. Lambert and drummer/vocalist Robbie Overbey. By combining the bittersweet sounds of '60s girl group pop with arty proto-new wave, plus edgy punk rock grit and attitude, the quartet was soon making waves and seducing critics on the wildly competitive local club scene, leading to numerous touring opportunities -- locally and abroad -- even before the recording of its 2007 debut album, Born Too Late. Unfortunately, the absence of record company support (the band self-released the LP) ensured that Looker would remain a well-kept secret known only to indie rock cognoscenti, and yet the group has forged on, unveiling a number of singles throughout 2008, leading up to the fall release of its sophomore full-length, Born in the Desert.
