Biography

Studied with Henry Cowell, Arnold Schoenberg, Virgil Thomson, and Korean, Chinese, and other Asian musics. Built gamelans, taught at many colleges, holds Honorary Doctorate, many awards and commissions. Dance and film scores for dancer Erick Hawkins and filmmaker James Broughton among many others.
