Biography

Led by vocalists Anna Christine and Erie Loch, the five-piece Luxt features both guitar-bass-drums instrumentation and a heavy dose of keyboards, electronic programming, and sound processing, producing a sound not unlike the more Gothic elements of Nine Inch Nails, with a similarly dark tone to the material. The band made its recording debut contributing a cover of Gary Numan's "Cars" to the 1997 compilation Newer Wave; its debut full-length, Disrepair, followed later in the year. The follow-up, Razing Eden, was released in 1998, showing a stronger sense of songcraft, which was continued by 2000's Chromasex Monkeydrive. They continued to improve with each release, with 2003's American Beast marking their best combination of industrial rock and nĂ¼ metal.
