Biography

Lynne Arriale gained her initial fame when she won the 1993 International Great American Jazz Piano Competition and was immediately signed to DMP. A fine advanced bop pianist, Arriale graduated from the Wisconsin Conservtory of Music and toured Japan in 1991 with "100 Golden Fingers," which matched her along with nine veteran pianists, an honor that preceded her contest victory by two years. After three outings for DMP, she jumped to TCB for 1997's The Long Road Home; Melody followed two years later.
