Biography

Straightforward acoustic singer/songwriter Virginia breaks away from the folk tradition by injecting ambient swells into her pop-oriented songs. After growing up in the Midwest and travelling to California at the young age of 14, Virginia found herself transplanted to the East Coast circuit, playing in New York and New Jersey coffeehouses and bars. After a year of performing, she caught the ear of several indie labels and producers, eventually deciding on Gig Records. Through her new label, she got involved with Andres Karu and Michael Ferentino's Amazing Meet Project, adding her own acoustic guitar and backup vocals. Virginia's debut album Sweet Conscience became available in late 2000.
