Biography

Formed in the late '30s, Orquesta Riverside became one of the most acclaimed Cuban orchestras. In the beginning, the group was directed by local musician Enrique González Mantici. In 1947, that honor was taken by sax player Pedro Vila. During the '50s, Orquesta Riverside's Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms were celebrated throughout Latin America.
