Biography

A Brooklyn, NY-based metal outfit, the pummeling chaos that was Made Out of Babies drew comparisons to noise rock legends Jesus Lizard, as well as Babes in Toyland and Big Black. Their first album, Trophy, was released in 2005. Signed to Neurot Recordings, members Julie Christmas (vocals), Brendan Tobin (guitarist), Cooper (bass), and Matthew Egan (drums) won themselves critical acclaim for both their (brutal) live shows and their (equally brutal) recorded work, which features a relentless post-metal soundscape fronted by an even more relentless frontwoman. Their second album, 2006's Coward, was recorded in Chicago with Steve Albini, and was voted by many critics to be one of that year's best releases, metal or otherwise. As of 2008, Made Out of Babies were holed up in Brooklyn, working out new songs for presentation on-stage as well as preparing for the process of their next album.
