Biography

Manifesto Jukebox is a raging power trio from Finland that plays the sort of melodic indie rock that has been a staple of the music underground since Hüsker Dü was banging away in the early '80s. The group began in early 1999, when they started releasing their own 7" records and spreading their name throughout Europe. When they finally released their debut album in late 2000 (in Europe only, it wouldn't appear in North America for another year), it established them in the underground community of their native country. The group toured behind it and continued to write songs for the second album, which they recorded in the spring of 2002. The results, released in the summer as Remedy, were a stronger and more focused take on the style they had developed on their debut.
