Biography

Electronic composer Mark Biehl was born and raised in Belleville, IL, beginning his music career during the mid-'70s in a local prog-rock cover band. By the following decade he had relocated to Los Angeles, accepting a job as an audio engineer with a video post-production company; there he was also invited to contribute music to the A&E cable network series The Edge and Beyond. Biehl eventually returned to the Midwest, settling in St. Louis to work as an engineer at a local recording facility; during his off hours, he began work on the music that ultimately comprised his New Age-influenced debut LP, 1998's Landscapes.
