Biography

Studied with Marion Bauer, Roger Sessions. Teacher at Juilliard and Princeton. Co-director Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center, consultant in creation of Mark II RCA Synthesizer. Early use of serialist techniques in America. Generatrix for orchestra (1935), Composition for Four Instruments (1948), Vision and Prayer for soprano and synthesized tape (1961), String Quartet No. 4 (1970).
