Biography

Mindflayer are a drums and electronics duo, one of many projects to emerge from the fertile Providence, RI, scene in the 1990s. Drummer Brian Chippendale, who also played in Lightning Bolt, and electronics fellow Matt Brinkman of Forcefield began Mindflayer in 1996, playing regionally and releasing tapes and CD-Rs sporadically. In 2003, Bulb Records released their official debut, Take Your Skin Off. The following year an older CD-R release, It's Always 1999, was given official issue by Load.
