Biography

A proto-punk garage band that formed at Southwest High School in Green Bay, WI in the late 1990s, the Mystery Girls developed a ramshackle, passionate and almost blues-based sound that seems to belong to the mid-'60s as much as it does the early 21st century, although it wouldn't be quite accurate to think of them as a throwback band. A debut album, Mystery Girls, was released on both LP and CD by Trick Knee Records in 2002, followed by Something in the Water in 2004 from LA-based label In the Red. By the time of the band's third release, 2008's Incontinopia, also on In the Red, the band's lineup consisted of guitarists Matt Conger and Jordan Davis, vocalist Casey Grajek, drummer Jamis Kipp, and bassist Michael Zink.
