Biography

Canadian alternative rock outfit Neurosonic is the musical brainchild of Jason Darr. He'd formerly spent time with the Calgary-based rockers Out of Your Mouth, the group scoring a hit on radio and MuchMusic with its cover of Madonna's "Music." But Darr eventually grew dissatisfied with Out of Your Mouth; he detached himself from the band to strike out on his own, taking a musical arrogance and love of electronics with him. The result was Neurosonic, a catchy mixture of industrial and hard rock with an intense yet decidedly pop-tinged edge. Not only did Darr learn to know his way around a studio, but he also took up each instrument to ensure he could be in control of the entire operation himself. Darr's debut full-length as Neurosonic, Drama Queen, was issued in Canada in mid-2005, the album seeing European release by the year's end. Drama Queen next appeared in the United States in January 2007 through Bodog Music.
