Biography

Seattle's bittersweet, folky indie pop outfit Night Canopy features singer/songwriter and guitarist Amy Blaschke and former Pretty Girls Make Graves drummer Nick deWitt in the studio, and add former Catch bassist Jenny Jimenez and violinist Seth Warren (also of Red Stars Theory) for live shows. Blaschke began recording as a more straightforward singer/songwriter in 1998, releasing her debut album, Red Letter, via LaPush Records. For her second, self-titled 2003 album, Blaschke teamed up with Minus the Bear's Erin Tate and 764-HERO and Red Stars Theory's James Bertram. Night Canopy evolved out of recording sessions at deWitt's Cupcake Studios, where he and Blaschke experimented with different textures and arrangements in their music. The results, Of Honey and Country, were released early in 2007 on Go Midnight Records.
