Biography

Midwestern indie rock band No Wait Wait got their start in 2003 when New York musician Marc Gartman embarked on what he thought would only be a brief visit to Duluth, MN. Gartman ended up falling in love with the thriving Duluth music scene. There, he met the musicians who would form the core of No Wait Wait: Russell Sackett, Jimi Cooper, Steve Garrington, and Eric Pollard. He also met Alan Sparhawk, who would eventually release the group's albums on the Chairkickers' label. No Wait Wait released their first, self-titled album in 2004, and they went on tour with the Retribution Gospel Choir and Alan Sparhawk in the fall of 2005. Their success in the Duluth area landed the band a record deal with Chairkickers' Union Music, and they released their second full-length album, About You, in September 2006.
