Biography

The New Zealand indie electronic act Over the Atlantic features multi-instrumentalists Nik Brinkman and Bevan Smith. Brinkman had already been tinkering with Over the Atlantic as a solo project and had issued a few compilation tracks upon meeting Smith through a mutual friend in early 2004. Smith, who's previously performed under the Aspen, Signer, and Skallander monikers, was immediately taken by the work in progress, thus jumping on board to make Over the Atlantic a proper duo before the summer's end. Junica marked their debut album release for Carpark in September 2006. Additional fall shows with labelmates Beach House followed in October.
