Biography

P'taah is another project from Atlanta-based DJ/producer Chris Brann, who has also recorded house music as Wamdue Project (and Wamdue Productions). With P'taah, however, Brann stretched outside of the house formulas to incorporate jazz, drum'n'bass, funk, and soul into his sound. Brann's first P'taah album, Compressed Light, was released in early 1999 on Ubiquity Records, and a remix companion (Decompressed) followed a year later. In 2000, "King of My Catle," a Wamdue production from 1998, became an unexpected hit with dance audiences. Instead of capitalizing on the name with another Wamdue LP, Brann returned in 2003 with his second proper P'taah full-length, Staring at the Sun.
