Biography

The self-described ‘dub fuelled ska rocksteady & reggae' crew Pama International was made up of former members of such illustrious acts as Special Beat, the Specials, Madness, Galliano, Steel Pulse, and Pop Will Eat Itself. The band released their work on the self-promoted label Jamdown, and over the years made appearances at such festivals as Glastonbury. The band released its first American full-length, Float Like A Butterfly, in 2005, the same year that they released the well-received EP Dub Store Special in the UK. In 2006, Pama International became the first new band to sign to legendary reggae (of all shapes and sizes) label, Trojan. The resulting release, August 2006's Trojan Sessions, was recorded by a Pama International line up that contained Finny on vocals, Sean Flowerdew on keyboards, Lynval Golding on guitar, Kirk Service on bass, Fuzz Townshend on drums, Simon Wilcox on trumpet, Marli on guitars, and Nick Manasseh on ‘dub stylings.' Pama International followed that up with 2008's release, Love Filled Dub Band.
