Biography

Paul Sullivan is an accomplished pianist and composer who has worked in many different genres surrounding his instrument. He began his training in his hometown of Boston, where he attended the Phillips Exeter Academy and Yale University, where he received a B.A. in 1977. He became a freelance musician, moving to New York to try his luck at composing. He moved to Maine in 1988, focusing specifically on releasing albums of his compositions that were influenced by his experience playing in jazz clubs and in the off-Broadway theater scene in New York City. He won several awards for his independent releases, and by the late '90s he had focused his efforts toward recording his favorite songs from the '30s, '40s, and '50s.
