Biography

A regular on the Opie & Anthony radio show and a veteran of Dane Cook's Tourgasm, comedian Robert Kelly was born and raised in Boston, MA. Petty theft and vandalism landed the teenage Kelly in juvenile prison for a two-year stretch. Upon release he had a completely new attitude toward his future. Applying himself at high school brought Kelly a scholarship to a community college, where he studied the fine arts. He enjoyed being creative, and while his paintings were well received, it didn't bring the kind of rush he was looking for. Joining an improv comedy troupe did -- plus, it was where he would meet Dane Cook and begin a friendship that would last as the two split off into solo standup careers. After spending years on the comedy club and college campus circuit, Kelly was asked by Cook -- now a comedy superstar -- to join the Tourgasm troupe on a cross-country tour that would turn into a HBO television series in 2006. Two years later Kelly would release his debut album, Just the Tip, on the Comedy Central label.
