Biography

Ambient dub-techno duo Sounds From the Ground first came to prominence in 1996 with the epic "Triangle," which was followed by another landmark production, "Gather." After releasing these two successful singles, duo members Elliot Jones and Nick Woolfson crafted their debut long-player, Kin (1996). The well-known West Coast ambient label Waveform released the album in the States to a warm reception. However, Sounds From the Ground didn't return with another long-player until 2000, Terra Firma (originally released overseas as Mosaic). By that time whatever momentum the duo had established with their debut had long since diminished.
