Biography

Melbourne, Australia pop unit the Steinbecks emerged from the ashes of the Sugargliders, which disbanded in October 1994 specifically to allow the new group to form; all five members of the Steinbecks -- vocalist/guitarist Josh Meadows, his guitarist brother Joel, bassist Robert Cooper, drummer Bianca Lew and guitarist/trumpter Adam Dennis -- were all either a part of, or closely associated with, the Sugargliders as well. Where the previous band recorded only singles, the Steinbecks immediately set about debuting with an LP, and At Home and Abroad With the Steinbecks was released on the Summershine label in 1995. Despite persistent rumors of a break-up, the group returned in early 2000 with Recorded Music Saloon.
