Biography

Not to be confused with the anabolic steroid, Stromba featured producers James Dyer and Tom Tyler along with contributor James McKechan. The project signed with Fat Cat for 1999's Pinch 12", and returned five years later with the full-length Tales from the Sitting Room, which involved even more collaborators, most contributing live instrumentation like trumpets, melodica, and accordion to the producers' dub and downtempo grooves. In addition to their work in Stromba, Dyer was the impresario of DC Records, Tyler had recorded for that label under his own name, and McKechan recorded for Fat Cat as Fonn.
