Biography

Suckers formed in Brooklyn, NY, where members Quinn Walker, Austin Fisher, Pan, and Brian Aiken began mixing tribal indie rock with flourishes of chamber pop and Bowie-inspired eclecticism. Walker enjoyed some success as a solo artist in 2008 (having signed to CocoRosie's label and issued a double album to underground acclaim), but the band brought a different palette to the drawing board, with multi-instrumentalists Pan and Fisher boosting Walker's sound. Drummer Brian Aiken subsequently joined the lineup after a yearlong sojourn to Hungary, and Suckers began sharing New York stages with the likes of Yeasayer, MGMT, and Chairlift. A self-titled EP followed in early 2009, featuring the band's avant-garde take on pop music.
