Biography

Electro outfit THD -- Total Harmonic Distortion -- was led by Shawn Rudiman and Ed Vargo, who previously teamed in Teknition. Formed in 1989 in northeastern Pennsylvania, the duo debuted in 1993 with the album Mechanical Advantage. The subsequent release of the remix EP Hypocrisis won considerable acclaim in Europe, and led to remix projects in conjuction with acts including Psychic TV, Christian Death, Penal Colony and Birmingham 6. THD's second full-length, Outside In, appeared in 1995, and a long hiatus preceded the release of 1998's Watz Your Program?
