Biography

Jazz pianist Ted Kooshian has made New York City his home base since relocating there from San Francisco in 1987. Since then he has made his mark on a number of bands, including two Ed Palermo ensembles, the Ed Palermo Big Band, and the smaller bebop-oriented unit, the Burridge/Palermo Sextet, which plays biweekly at New York's 55 Bar. He has also performed with Blood, Sweat and Tears, Aretha Franklin, and Chuck Berry, and is featured in the orchestra for the Broadway version of the Lion King.
