Biography

Since Autumn Leaves made their 1993 recording debut with the single "When I Close My Eyes" b/w "The Sphere of Ocean Tides," singer/songwriter David Beckey laid the groundwork for his one-man band that looked up to the psychedelic '60s revival of the Byrds and the Beatles. Following their 1995 second single "You Didn't Say a Word (The Ballad of Plum Tucker)," Grimsey Records released Autumn Leaves' debut full-length, Treats and Treasures, two years later. Included on this record is a backing band with a number of fellow Minneapolis performers, such as bassist Keith Patterson (the Funseekers and Spectors), guitarist Matt Gerzema (Dearly, the Legendary Jim Ruiz Group), and drummer Steve Kent.
